My name is Stephen Prince, and this summer my best friend Wyatt Akin and I will be biking close to 3,500 miles across the United States to raise money for Neurofibromatosis (NF), the disease my brother died of almost three years ago.
My goal is to raise $50,000 in donations to fund treatment and research and hopefully someday find a cure for NF.
Andrew passed away on June 22, 2006, at the age of 23. He was born with NF, which caused tumors to continuously grow all over his body. My brother was my best friend and my hero, and I wanted to do something that would raise awareness about NF and help the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF), an NF research and support organization.
I’m excited to do this for my brother and hope that money raised
by the ride will help researchers find a cure so that others won't
have to go through everything Andrew suffered.
If you have any ideas for fundraising I’m all ears! Besides raising money for NF, we need new road bikes and other supplies for the trip.
